Abstract

Families throughout the life cycle experience different transitions and have undergone many transformations, mainly in their structures, some resulting from the construction of conjugality or the paths of its dissolution. In this case study we appreciate the Rocha family, using Olson's Circumplex Model (2000) and the dimensions of the Dynamic Model of Family Assessment as references
(Figueiredo, 2012). The nursing diagnoses were validated by the family and are located in the development and functioning dimensions:

Marital satisfaction, not maintained by ineffective communication;
Parental role, not suitable, due to knowledge of the role not shown;
Parental role, not suitable, due to no consensus on the role.
Role of appropriate caregiver;
Non-dysfunctional family process;
Ineffective family communication.

In view of these diagnoses, it was possible to develop a care plan with the family to improve family well-being.
