Dear Colleagues,

Pensar Enfermagem Journal is pleased to announce the opening of submissions for the Special Issue dedicated to Interdisciplinarity, Networking and Healthcare Outcomes. We invite the academic community, researchers and health professionals to contribute their studies in this fundamental area for the advancement of scientific knowledge.
Interdisciplinarity and networking are recognized as fundamental pillars in the provision of holistic and effective healthcare in all care settings, such as hospitals, primary health care, home-based hospitalization, care homes, social institutions such as prisons, long-term care facilities and nursing homes.
With an ageing population, health needs are on the rise, and interdisciplinary networking can help to respond to the complexity of this reality. This is a perspective of unequivocal intervention for the common good.
We recognize that people need interdisciplinary care for the best health outcomes. In this way, this special issue of the journal Pensar Enfermagem aims to be a vehicle for disseminating knowledge about the work/provision of healthcare that requires interdisciplinary approaches and the establishment of collaborative networks that integrate different specialties and perspectives. We encourage the submission of original research articles that present relevant results, as well as systematic reviews, theoretical essays and case studies that fulfil these aims. They should be research results that demonstrate this reality and contribute to the optimization of health practices, with particular interest in the optimization of nursing practices.

- Technological innovations in health and their impact on interdisciplinarity.

At the time of submission, authors should mention in ‘Comments to the Editor’ that this is a submission for the special issue: Interdisciplinarity, networking and results in healthcare.
