Abstract

In this article the author proposes an analysis of the mission of Police as a privileged partner in the mental health framework in the Portuguese legal system, especially in the compulsory hospitalization universe, a particularly sensitive reality that affects millions of people in the world; and whose operational procedures should be the domain of nursing professionals, essential actors in this area of intervention.
